Care & recommendations
Our plant-based wax candles are designed to accompany you with softness and presence. Caring for them is also a way of honouring the moment you choose to light them. Small, mindful gestures can make a meaningful difference to their longevity, fragrance, and overall experience.
When you light a candle, you don’t just illuminate a room — you open a moment to be with yourself.
1. The first burn — the beginning of the ritual
The first time you light your candle sets the rhythm for its entire life. This is when the wax learns how to melt, expand, and transform.
Allow the surface to melt completely, reaching the edges of the container. This helps the candle burn evenly and retain its fragrance.
Recommendations for this first moment:
Set aside time and presence — the process may take between 1 and 3 hours, depending on the size.
Choose a calm moment where you can accompany the flame with gentle attention.
Once this base is formed, the wax will follow this pattern in future burns.
Mindful tip:
If you notice the wax sinking in the centre, don’t worry. You can loosely cover the container with aluminium foil, leaving a small opening at the top, and allow the surface to gently level out again.
2. The wick — balance and harmony
A well-cared-for wick supports a calm, steady flame.
Before each use, trim the wick to around 5 millimetres. This helps prevent excess smoke, protects the container, and extends the life of your candle. A smaller flame also allows the fragrance to be released more delicately.
3. Choosing the right place
A well-cared-for wick supports a calm, steady flame.
Before each use, trim the wick to around 5 millimetres. This helps prevent excess smoke, protects the container, and extends the life of your candle. A smaller flame also allows the fragrance to be released more delicately.
4. Mindful burn time
Less is more. We recommend not exceeding 3 to 4 hours per burn. This helps preserve the fragrance, prevent overheating, and keep the container in good condition.
If you’d like to enjoy the scent throughout the day, you can alternate burns or combine several candles.
5. Extinguishing with care
Closing the ritual matters too.
Avoid blowing out the flame forcefully or using water. Ideally, use a candle snuffer or gently cover the flame with the lid. This reduces smoke and helps preserve the aromatic essence.
6. Enjoying the fragrance in balance
For a more immersive experience, light your candle 10 to 15 minutes before occupying the space. The warmth will gradually activate the fragrance, creating a welcoming atmosphere without overwhelming the senses.
In larger spaces, you can combine several candles of the same scent.
7. Reuse the container
When only a small amount of wax remains, allow it to cool completely. Carefully remove any residue and clean the container with warm water and mild soap.
Our containers are designed to have a second life — as decorative cups, pencil holders, plant pots, storage jars, jewellery holders, or anything else that feels right in your home or office.
8. Proper storage
Store your candles in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Excess heat or prolonged exposure can affect the wax texture and the intensity of the fragrance.
Avoid storing them in enclosed or humid spaces.
Small gestures, meaningful experiences
Caring for your candle is caring for the moment you choose for yourself. With attention and presence, each lighting becomes a conscious act that transforms the space and supports your energy.
When you light a candle, you don’t just illuminate a room — you open a moment to be with yourself.
